POST-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Following the conference days there is a variety of optional workshops to attend. Held at Rydges Hotel.
From 1/2, 1 and 2 days in length, the topics are not only interesting, they will enhance your day to day Bowenwork.

Our workshop Facilitators don’t get to Australia often so this is a unique opportunity to learn from some of our leading Bowen educators.
Bowen Body Decoding
It is essential for any Bowen therapist to understand the importance of a detailed anamnesis, good observation and precise assessment in order to achieve quick, solid and lasting results. This class will help each Bowen therapist build up knowledge and achieve a better understanding of how the Bowen technique works and what changes it brings to the body.
Through observation and functional assessments practitioners will be able to easily target the area of concern and achieve a higher success rate. Welcome to assessment led treatments that will change your practice for good.

This two day workshop will concentrate on looking at the dynamics and health implications for babies and mums of different kinds of birth and how these might be addressed using various procedures. Many practitioners have a reluctance to work on babies, partly through unfamiliarity but also through lack of knowledge of how to treat them.
The workshop aims to increase confidence in treating babies and to help the practitioner understand the appropriate manual therapy approaches to babies and to mums during pregnancy.

Bowenwork & The Vagus Nerve System
The Vagus Nerve System is an intriguing area of research to bodywork practitioners, psychologists, medical and biological scientists.
In recent years, new theories have emerged on the structure and function of the nerve system that essentially controls much of the parasympathetic activities in the body, and people’s behaviour.
Since the nerve can be stimulated by certain types of touch, this class explores how Bowenwork may beneficially influence the function of the vagus nerve.

About the Bowen Association of Australia
The Bowen Association of Australia, BAA, is the organisation providing professional guidelines, promotion and support for Bowtech® Bowen Therapists in Australia.
Our members are nationally recognised as Registered Bowen Therapy Practitioners, who meet the BAA standards of education, ethics and insurance.
The BAA acts as a voice between the practitioner and the teaching arms of Bowen, the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia and Bowen Training Australia and we are committed to maintaining the highest standard of education and training of Bowtech® Bowen Technique.
BAA encourages member engagement in the Bowen community via social media and industry forums, and we collect donations toward funding for Bowen research and the Tom Bowen Legacy Trust Fund.
BAA has a proud history of bringing the Bowen community together. We hosted the very first International Bowen Conference in 2000, followed by vibrant gatherings in Geelong (2004), Manly, Sydney (2010), and Cairns, Qld (2016). Unfortunately, our 2020 conference in Brisbane was postponed due to COVID-19.
We’re thrilled to announce that the 5th International Bowen Conference will take place in Geelong in 2026, coinciding with what would have been Tom Bowen’s 110th birthday — a truly special celebration in the birthplace of Bowen Therapy.
Join us as we honour Tom’s legacy, share new knowledge, and grow the future of Bowen Therapy together.
